Meher Baba Profile
Meher Baba Profile is my interpretation of one of the most recognizable views of Meher Baba, presented through a bold, simplified visual language that blends folk art, modern graphic design, and devotional portraiture. Rather than pursuing photographic realism, I sought to capture the quiet strength and timeless presence that his profile communicates.
The composition emphasizes strong contours, flattened shapes, and a limited palette of vibrant color. The brilliant blue background creates a sense of openness and serenity, while the warm pink robe offers both visual contrast and a feeling of compassion and humanity. Thick black outlines and simplified forms give the painting an iconic quality, inviting the viewer to focus on the spirit of the subject rather than surface detail.
Meher Baba often spoke of love, truth, and selfless service. This painting reflects those ideals through clarity and simplicity. Every line and color choice was intended to remove distraction and allow his peaceful presence to become the central experience of the work.
As with all of my Art for Baba paintings, this piece is both an artistic exploration and a personal act of devotion. My goal is not only to portray Meher Baba's likeness, but to create artwork that encourages reflection, inspires kindness, and reminds viewers of the quiet power of love. Quiet Presence
This portrait is part of my ongoing Art for Baba series, a body of work inspired by the life, love, and universal message of Meher Baba. Rather than striving for photographic realism, I seek to capture the feeling of his presence through simplified forms, bold lines, and carefully balanced values.
Working in a limited grayscale palette allowed me to focus on what matters most: expression, light, and inner stillness. Every shape was intentionally reduced to its essential form, creating a composition that is both graphic and contemplative. The strong black contours provide structure, while the subtle shifts in gray invite the viewer to slow down and discover the quiet depth within the portrait.
For me, painting Meher Baba is an act of meditation. Each brushstroke becomes an opportunity to reflect on compassion, silence, and unconditional love. My hope is that the finished work offers more than a likeness. I hope it creates a moment of peace, encouraging viewers to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the stillness that exists within themselves.

This painting is my personal interpretation of what is widely known as Meher Baba’s favorite photograph of himself. Rather than creating a literal copy, I reimagined the image through my own artistic language, transforming a treasured historical photograph into a joyful, contemporary work of art.
The familiar pose remains, but the realism gives way to simplified forms, expressive outlines, and vibrant colors that invite viewers to experience Baba with fresh eyes. The large, gentle eyes, rounded features, and warm smile are intended to reflect the innocence, compassion, and playful spirit that so many people experienced in his presence. The bold colors and graphic shapes celebrate the happiness and love that radiated from him while preserving the dignity of the original photograph.
This painting is part of my ongoing Art for Baba collection, a series dedicated to making Meher Baba’s image approachable for people of all ages and artistic backgrounds. By blending influences from mid-century illustration, folk art, and modern graphic design, I hope to create artwork that feels both timeless and inviting.
